A 12-year-old girl and two motorcyclists were seriously injured in separate vehicle accidents Monday night in Davenport.
The first accident involved a Davenport girl, according to the Davenport Police Department. It happened at about 6:30 p.m. in the area of East Kimberly Road and Bridge Avenue. The vehicle was westbound on Kimberly Road when it hit the girl, who was a pedestrian, according to a police press release. The release did not specify where the girl was when the collision occurred.
The girl was hospitalized with potentially life-threatening injuries. The department did not release her identity.
The accident involving the motorcycle happened at about 10:18 p.m. near the intersection of 32nd and Harrison streets, according to the police. The two riders on the motorcycle were seriously injured. The driver was airlifted to University of Iowa hospitals in Iowa City, and the passenger remained at Genesis Health System's eastern campus. The police did not release the identities of either victim.
Officers believe the motorcycle was struck by a westbound car that ran a stop sign and then continued west on 32nd Street, according to the release. The suspect vehicle is believed to be a 2015 red Dodge Charger with damage to the rear passenger side.
