Tuscaloosa, AL : Coaling man killed in crash on Thursday, 1st September 2016

A Coaling man was killed Thursday night when his vehicle struck a tree on Hagler Coaling Road.

Derrick Wade Barger, 62, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Speed and alcohol may have contributed to the crash, said Alabama State Troopers spokesman Trooper Reginal King.

Barger was driving a 2005 Cadillac Escalade that left the roadway, 10 miles souuth of Coaling, around 8 p.m. Troopers are continuing to investigate the cause of the crash, King said.
