FARMER CITY, IL : 1 dead, 1 airlifted after Farmer City accident on Tuesday, 20th February 2024

One person was killed, and another person was airlifted after a crash in Farmer City Tuesday.

DeWitt County Coroner Randall J. Rice was called to the scene of a 2-vehicle accident that happened at the intersection of Rosewood Road and Depot Road.

Rice said James Allen Kirkland, IV of Victoria, Illinois was travelling north bound on Rosewood Road, and the other vehicle was travelling westbound on Depot Road.

Officials said Kirkland did not stop at the stop sign, and the westbound road had no stop sign.

The occupant in the westbound vehicle hit Kirkland's vehicle on the passenger side.

Both vehicles came to rest in the field.

The westbound occupant was life flighted to a local hospital.
