Austin, TX : Woman Fatally Struck By Car While Walking To Veterans Day Ceremony on Tuesday, November 11, 2014

Austin police say an 83-year-old woman has been fatally struck by a car in a high school parking lot while she walking inside to attend a Veterans Day ceremony. Georgia Esquivel was pronounced dead Tuesday at McCallum High School. Family members say Esquivel was on her way to show support for her relative, one of 11 veterans presented with honorary high school diplomas at the event. Police say the driver stayed at the scene and is cooperating with officers. No charges have been reported.
