Honolulu, HI : Man critically injured after crashing motorcycle on H-1 near Kinau St. exit Sunday night, June 5, 2016

A 26-year-old Wahiawa man was critically injured Sunday night after crashing his motorcycle into another vehicle on the H-1 Freeway, Honolulu police said.

According to police, the motorcyclist was traveling in the eastbound direction around 6:15 p.m. when he slammed into the back of a sedan, throwing him off his motorcycle. Police said he was speeding and trying to switch lanes before crashing into the car.

The victim was taken to the Queen’s Medical Center in critical condition.

Police closed three right lanes of the H-1 Freeway, including the Kinau Street off-ramp, for about two hours during the investigation.
