Grand Island,NE : Saturday accident near Liederkranz injures 2 men on August, Saturday 19th 2017

A late Saturday afternoon collision at Cedar and First streets sent two men to CHI Health St. Francis, where they each were listed in stable condition, according to the latest report provided by the Grand Island Police Department.

The police accident report said the collision happened at 5:27 p.m. between a vehicle that was southbound on Cedar Street and an eastbound vehicle on First Street. The report said the southbound vehicle ran the stop sign at the intersection, causing the collision.

Injured in the accident were the driver of the southbound vehicle, Abdifatah Abdi, 33, of Grand Island, and the passenger in the same vehicle, Foos Hassan, 26, also of Grand Island. No one was injured in the eastbound vehicle.

The collision between the two moving vehicles caused them to run into a parked car near the intersection.
