SANTA CRUZ,CA: 24-year-old San Jose woman killed after car crash near Highway 1 on Monday May 30, 2016.

A 24-year-old San Jose woman died Monday after she hit a tree near the onramp from northbound Highway 1 to northbound Highway 17, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Sarah Slugocki was driving a 2011 Honda Civic about 4:35 p.m. when she lost control and went off the west edge of the road, CHP officer Brad Sadek said. The driver's side of the Honda hit a tree.
"The vehicle overturned and came to rest in a ditch," said Sadek.
Slugocki was taken by ambulance to Dominican Hospital. She was pronounced dead there at 8:55 p.m., Santa Cruz County sheriff's Sgt. Roy Morales, a spokesman for the Coroner's Unit said.
The Coroner's Unit identified Slugocki on Tuesday afternoon
