Middletown ,MD : 17-year-old Maryland girl died SUV she was driving slammed into the front of a school bus on Wednesday Morning ,February 11th 2015

A 17-year-old Maryland girl died on her way to school Wednesday morning when the SUV she was driving slammed into the front of a school bus.

The parents of Claire Knight are devastated and are searching for answers too.

As they remember her, they say they think of her smile that radiated from her heart to her face -- from a girl who was taken way too early.

They didn't want to talk on camera, but wanted everyone to know their daughter was not on her cell phone during the crash. The Frederick County Sheriff's Office also said Knight's phone was found in her back pocket and texting and driving is not believed to be the cause of the crash.

Knight's life was cut short just feet from her family home. Her SUV collided head-on with the school bus along Old Middletown Road.

The teenager planned to attend Towson University.

The bus driver suffered minor injuries and the lone student on board was not hurt.
