crash that involved four cars and nearly injured a Shelby County sheriff's deputy
A crash that involved four cars and nearly injured a Shelby County sheriff's deputy Friday morning in the Hickory Hill community is under investigation.
A witness on the scene told Action News 5 that a van smashed into the back of the deputy's unmarked car just minutes after the deputy pulled him and his passengers over for public urination. After the first accident, an SUV slammed into the van.
The accident happened on Winchester Road near Fann Road, just west of Hickory Hill Road.
Witness Racheal Dunson said, "At the time he was telling us to get back in the car, and whatever he was about to get ready to say, he was like ‘watch out, watch out!'" Dunson said. "The van slid into the back of us."
Police have not said if any citations were issued in this crash.
