Dane County ,WI : 41- Years old Motorcyclist killed and another injured after head-on crash in Dane County on Wednesday evening ,May 27th 2015

A motorcyclist was killed Wednesday night in a head-on crash with an sport-utility vehicle in Dane County.

Authorities think the motorcyclist, a 41-year-old man from Monroe, was speeding south on Highway 69 in the Town of Montrose shortly before 9:30 p.m. Wednesday when he lost control of his 2008 Kawasaki motorcycle, crossed the center of the road and hit a northbound 2014 Kia Sorento, the Dane County Sheriff's Office said.

The man, who was not wearing a helmet, was pronounced dead at the scene by the Dane County medical examiner's office.

The driver of the Kia, a 36-year-old Mazomanie woman who was wearing her seat belt, was taken to UW Hospital with minor injuries.

The crash is under investigation, and the motorcyclist's identity will be released by the medical examiner's office after his family is notified, authorities said.
