Hancock County, MS : One person injured after a Two-vehicle crash on Hwy. 603 and Caesar Necaise Road on Saturday night, October 1, 2016

A two-vehicle crash in Hancock County Saturday night has left a a woman severely injured.

According to the Mississippi Highway Patrol, the accident happened at 8:20 p.m. at the intersection of Hwy. 603 and Caesar Necaise Road.

Officials say a Ford F-350 was traveling south on Hwy. 603 when it struck a 2016 Nissan Versa that was attempting to turn north onto Hwy. 603. The F-350 crashed into the driver side of the Versa.

The driver of the Versa suffered severe injuries during the wreck, authorities say, and had to be extricated from the vehicle by emergency rescue personnel. The victim was then taken to University of South Alabama in Mobile, AL by a LifeFlight helicopter.

The driver of the F-350 and its five passengers did not suffer any injuries.

Everyone in both vehicles were wearing their seat belts.
