Woman Killed In Crash On I-95 In Old Lyme,Connecticuit

A 58-year-old New Haven woman was killed in a four-vehicle crash on I-95 in Old Lyme Monday morning.

A box truck struck a disabled Acura Integra that had stopped on southbound I-95 on the Baldwin Bridge, state police said.

The truck then struck a Ford Edge that was driving in the left lane. A fourth vehicle, a Cadillac Seville, then struck the Acura.

A passenger in the Acura, identified as Nidia Vargas, 58, of New Haven, was killed in the crash, police said.

The driver of the Acura, Evelyn Rivera, 34, of New Haven, was injured and taken to Yale-New Haven Hospital for treatment, police said.

The crash was reported at 11:28 a.m.

The truck driver, Dean Cambio, 23, of Warwick, R.I., suffered an injury to his forehead. The drivers of the Ford and Cadillac were not injured, state police said.

Southbound I-95 was partially closed for several hours as police investigated.
