A 17-year-old Faith youth died Wednesday in a single-vehicle rollover that injured two passengers.
Macoy Michael Collins suffered fatal injuries when the northbound 1983 Chevrolet S-10 pickup he was driving drifted off the roadway and rolled about one mile south of Faith on S.D. Highway 73 around 2:30 a.m., according to a Department of Public Safety news release.
After drifting into the east ditch, the pickup swerved back onto the road into the southbound lane before returning to the east ditch where it rolled. After rolling through a fence, the vehicle came to rest on its top in a pasture.
Collins and a passenger, Kimberly Jolene Wright, 17, of Hermosa were thrown form the vehicle. A third passenger, Blaze Harold McMurtry, 19, of Faith was partially ejected from the vehicle. None of the teens were wearing a seatbelt, according to the Department of Public Safety.
