WICHITA, KS : 2 killed, US 50 closed after Marion Co. crash on Thursday, 20th June 2024

The Kansas Highway Patrol identified a 41-year-old Wichita man and a 71-year-old man from Cottonwood Falls as the two people killed in Thursday morning’s Marion County crash on US 50 near Florence.

The crash log from the KHP said a 2017 GMC Acadia, driven by Travis Alan Flasschoen, of Wichita, was traveling east on US 50 when the car went left of center and hit a 2020 Hyundai Santa Fe, head-on. The KHP identified the Hyundai’s driver as John M. Ireland. The crash happened a little before 6:30 a.m.
