Warrenton, VA : Springfield man killed in motorcycle crash on Monday, 29th August, 2016

A 49-year-old Springfield man was killed Saturday when his motorcycle struck a power pole on Halfway Road in The Plains.

According to the Fauquier County Sheriff's Office, Hugh David Shoults was traveling south on Halfway Road when he entered a curve near Sullivan’s Mill Road. He then left the roadway, striking the pole. Witnesses performed CPR until the arrival of emergency units, but Shoults was pronounced dead at the scene.

The sheriff's office said excessive speed or drugs/alcohol were not a factor in this accident.
