Mattawa,WA : Two hurt in crash near Mattawa on August, Thursday 17th 2017

Two people were injured in a head-on crash on State Route 243 about 5 miles north of Mattawa on Thursday.

Washington State Patrol troopers said Isidro Morfin, 37, of Mattawa was driving north in a 2010 Ford Expedition when it crossed the centerline and struck a southbound 2008 International Harvester driven by Wesley Young, 33, of Prosser.


Morfin was flown to Central Washington Hospital in Wenatchee, then transferred to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, where he remained in serious condition Friday.

Morfin’s passenger, 47-year-old Robert Ross of Mattawa, was taken to Mattawa Medical Center, the State Patrol said. Young was not injured, troopers said.


The cause of the crash is under investigation.
