A 49-year-old man was killed Thursday night after a car struck him while running across Irlo Bronson Memorial Highway near Vineland Road, officials said. The crash happened just before 10 p.m., according to Florida Highway Patrol. The Kissimmee man, who hasn't been identified by FHP, was running north from the center median of Irlo Bronson Memorial Highway. At that time, a 2010 Hyundai Elantra was traveling west in the outside lane on the road near Vineland Road. The pedestrian ran into the path of the vehicle and was hit, troopers said.
