Monett, MO : 3 Miller residents injured in Hwy. 39 wreck on Friday, 7th October 2016
Three Miller residents were injured Friday in a wreck at 11:45 a.m. on Highway 39, four miles north of Mt. Vernon.
According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Robert Hester, 77, of Miller, was driving a 1990 Mercury Grand Marquis northbound when his vehicle crossed the center line toward a 2010 Hyundai Elantra Touring, being driven by James Bullis, 65, of Miller. Both vehicles swerved to avoid a collisions and struck each other in the northbound lane.
Hester suffered serious injuries and was transported to Cox South Hospital in Springfield. Bullis and a passenger in his vehicle, Fayanne Bullis, 60, of Miller, each suffered minor injuries. Fayanne Bullis was transported by ambulance to Mercy Hospital in Aurora, and James Bullis was transported to the same hospital by private vehicle.
All involved were wearing safety devices, and both vehicles were totaled.
