ISABELLA, OK : 2 killed in Major County collision Sunday morning on Sunday, February 18th 2017
Two men were killed in a pickup-semi fatality collision Sunday morning in Major County,
Miguel Martinez and Alejandro Flores, both 29, of Ringwood, were both pronounced dead at the scene from injuries sustained in the collision, which took place at around 8:20 a.m. at the intersection of Oklahoma 8 and the Isabella blacktop.
A 2013 Peterbuilt semi, driven by Jared Blake Sisco, 32, of Muldrow, was eastbound on the Isabella blacktop, according to an Oklahoma Highway Patrol report, and failed to yield at a stop sign at Oklahoma 8. The semi struck a northbound 2006 Chevrolet pickup on the driver’s side.
Both vehicles left the roadway to the right, and Sisco’s semi overturned one quarter time, resting on its passenger side, according to the report.
Martinez was driving with three passengers in the pickup: Flores; Adolfo Aguilar-Rojas, 37, of Ringwood; and Antonio Cano-Ordonez, 29, of Ringwood. Rojas was transported by Ringwood EMS to Integris Bass Baptist Health Center in Enid, and was treated and released. Cano-Ordonez was transported by Major County EMS to St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center in Enid and was admitted in stable condition with head and trunk-internal injuries.
Martinez, the driver of the pickup, and Flores were both pinned for an unknown amount of time, according to the report.
Sisco was transported by Major County EMS to St. Mary’s and was treated and released.
The conditions of both drivers are under investigation, according to OHP, which listed the cause of collision as “failure to yield from stop sign.”
Seat belts were equipped in all vehicles but were not in use by Sisco in the semi or Cano-Ordonez or Flores in the pickup.
