Lafayette, CA : Antioch woman was died after a collision at Highway 24 on Wednesday, 24th August, 2016
The Contra Costa Coroner's Bureau has identified an Antioch woman who died at a hospital after a collision on Highway 24 Wednesday morning.
Trista Allen, 24, apparently suffered a medical event unrelated to the crash, a coroner's bureau spokesman said Wednesday.
At 8:45 a.m., the California Highway Patrol received a call about a collision between a Nissan Altima and a Nissan truck, according to a statement.
Police said Allen was driving on westbound Highway 24 just west of Acalanes Road when her Altima veered right, hitting the truck's left side, before drifting left and coming to rest against the center median.
Emergency crews responded and took the unconscious Allen to John Muir Medical Center in Walnut Creek, where she was pronounced dead.
No other vehicles were involved and alcohol or drugs did not appear to be factors, the CHP said.
