Police say a 25-year-old Swampscott man riding a dirt bike was killed in a crash Saturday in Saugus.
Police on Sunday identified the rider as Benjamin Fegundo.
The crash happened about 8:19 p.m. at the intersection of Jefferson and Newcomb avenues in Saugus, according to a statement from police. Officers at the scene determined that the dirt bike had collided with a Nissan Pathfinder.
Police say the Swampscott man was taken to an area hospital and later pronounced dead.
Two of the three people in the Pathfinder, both young children, were taken to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries, according to the statement. The driver of the SUV was not hurt.
Police say a preliminary investigation has determined that the dirt bike was not registered and the driver did not have a motorcycle license. The crash remains under investigation.
State police sent an accident reconstruction team to the scene after the crash.
