Maple Valley, WA : Two car collision on Wax Road near Maple Valley City Hall on Tuesday evening, May 17, 2016

A two car injury collision happened on Wax Road near Maple Valley City Hall Tuesday evening.

Maple Valley's Major Accident Reconstruction Unit arrived on scene to handle the investigation.

"It appears the suspect vehicle's driver accelerated when he observed one of our Maple Valley officers turn on him to conduct a traffic stop," Maple Valley Police Chief D.J. Nesel said.

That is when, Nesel added, he crossed over the oncoming traffic lane and hit another vehicle head on.

The suspect's vehicle was stolen and a gun was found inside, Nesel said.

The driver and passenger of the stolen vehicle as well as the driver of the victim vehicle suffered non-life threatening injuries.

As of 7 p.m. that is all that is known.
