Annapolis, MD : A two-vehicle crash in Jessup on Sunday, September 24th 2017
A man was thrown from his car and declared dead at the scene in a two-vehicle crash in Jessup Sunday.
Firefighters were called to a report of an accident on Route 295 near Route 175 at 2:40 a.m., according to the Anne Arundel County Fire Department.
The department said two vehicles had collided in the southbound lane of Route 295 between Route 175 and the NSA connector road, causing one to flip and fall down an embankment.
The driver, a man the department said believed to be in his 40s, was thrown from the vehicle and declared dead at the scene.
A 47-year-old male passenger in the vehicle suffered serious, but not life-threatening injuries, the department said. He was taken to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center to be treated.
The department said two other people inside the vehicle were not injured.
A 36-year-old woman from the second vehicle was taken to Laurel Regional Hospital with minor injuries and a passenger was not injured, the department said.
