Carbondale, IL : Two men received major injuries and two others were cited following an all-terrain vehicle crash on April, Monday 24th 2017

Two men received major injuries and two others were cited following an all-terrain vehicle crash Sunday west of Coello.

According to a news release from Franklin County Sheriff Donald Jones, deputies responded around 4:30 p.m. Sunday to the crash on Izaac Walton Road just west of Coello.

A 2004 Polaris driven by Jeffrey L. Quilman, 29, of Pinkneyville, was westbound and struck the rear of a 2001 Honda ATV driven by Justin L. Green, 39, of Sparta, causing both ATVs to go out of control and overturn. Both drivers were ejected from the vehicles and received major injuries. Green was flown to an out-of-state hospital.

Quillman was cited for illegal operation of an ATV on the roadway and failure to reduce speed to avoid a crash. Green will be cited of illegal operation of an ATV on the roadway and driving while license revoked.
