West Sacramento, CA : 2 dead, 1 injured following collision near West Sacramento on Wednesday, 9th September, 2020

Two people were killed Wednesday evening following a head-on collision on Old River Road near West Sacramento, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The collision happened around 6:30 p.m. Wednesday and is under investigation by the Woodland Area CHP Office.

According to the CHP’s report, a 59-year-old man in a 2016 Ford Fusion was driving on Old River Road south of CR 124 at an unknown rate of speed just after 6 p.m. Prior to the collision, he was reported to have been driving “recklessly, at high speeds and passing unsafely.”

“For an unknown reason,” the driver veered into the southbound lane and the front of his vehicle collided with the front of a 2017 Ford F-150.


The driver of the Ford F-150 was a 75-year-old man who was transporting a 73-year-old female passenger. All three people involved in the collision are residents of West Sacramento, according to the report.
