CALDWELL, ID : Pedestrian dies after collision with motorist in Caldwell on Wednesday, February 22nd 2017

Authorities said a Washington pedestrian died after being hit by a vehicle along an Interstate 84 exit ramp in Caldwell Friday night.

Idaho State Police investigators identified the victim as David Trefren, 44, of Yakima, Washington. Troopers said Trefren walked into the lane of travel on the exit ramp for Centennial Road about 9 p.m.

The vehicle was driven by Gonzalo Vasquez, 27, of Caldwell, according to ISP.

Trefren was pronounced dead at the scene from injuries suffered in the collision.

The crash remains under investigation and ISP officials did not provide any new details Saturday.
