SUTTON, MA : A man killed in a crash on Monday, June 5, 2017

A man killed in a crash on Whitins Road Monday has been identified as James L. Drake, 54, of 4 Amesbury St., Worcester.

Police said Mr. Drake died in a head-on collision after he was picked up on radar as speeding and pursued by police. The 2003 white Ford pickup truck Mr. Drake was driving crashed about a mile down the road as police attempted to stop him just after 7 a.m. Monday, police said.A spokesman for Worcester District Attorney Joseph D. Early Jr. Tuesday morning identified Mr. Drake as the man who was killed in the crash.

Mr. Drake’s pickup truck crashed head-on into two vehicles. The occupants of the other vehicles were not seriously injured, police said. They have not been publicly identified by police.
