A man was killed and another man was injured in a single-vehicle crash early Wednesday morning.

Deangelo Lemar Harris, 36, died at the scene of the collision just before 1 a.m. in the 500 block of North Park Avenue just north of downtown.

A passenger was treated for non life-threatening injuries at Moses Cone Hospital.

Harris was driving a GMC SUV on North Park Avenue when it went off the side of the road near the railroad tracks, Burlington police said. The SUV overturned several times before coming to a rest along the railroad tracks, police said.

Harris was ejected from the vehicle, police said.

Speed appeared to be a contributing factor in the crash, police said.
