ORLANDO, FL : Deputy, driver injured in Orange County crash on Monday, December 5th, 2016

An Orange County sheriff's deputy and another driver were injured early Monday in a crash, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

The crash was reported on Silver Star Road, just east of Hiawassee Road.According to the FHP, the deputy was working in his cruiser when it was struck by a black car.

The deputy and the driver were taken to Health Central but were expected to be OK, troopers said.

The FHP said it is investigating whether alcohol played a role in the wreck.

The crash remains under investigation.
