Durham , NC : 17-year-old man Killed and other person was injured in after car crashed in the northbound lane of the Durham Freeway on wednesday, November 26th 2014
Police have identified a 17-year-old man who was killed Wednesday night in a crash on the Durham Freeway.
Jose Alfredo Cruz Mancilla, 17, of Charlotte was a passenger in the car when it when it crashed in the northbound lane of the Durham Freeway near the Mangum Street bridge.
Mancilla was ejected from the car and taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.
A second passenger, Juaquin Pana Garcia, 27, of Raleigh, was also ejected from the car. He was taken to the hospital.
The driver and a third passenger fled from the scene. Police are still searching for the two. They have not been identified at this time.
The accident happened about 9:15 p.m. on Nov. 26 in the northbound lane of N.C. Highway 147 near Mangum Street. Police said a silver Honda Civic sporting a South Carolina registration was traveling at north at a high rate of speed.
