Houston, TX : Five-vehicle collision on 610 North Loop leaves one dead on Tuesday, December, 19th 2017

A five-vehicle wreck on the 610 North Loop early Tuesday morning has left one person dead, police said.

The fatal collision occurred about 5:45 Tuesday morning on the westbound 610 North Loop just before Airline Drive, according to the Houston Police Department.

Police said the man who died was driving a red GMC Sierra pickup truck southbound on the North Freeway and then exited to 610 North Loop westbound. On the ramp, police say he lost control of the vehicle, crossed over a grassy median and into the middle of the North Loop.

At that time, police say, the pickup was hit by a commercial truck.
