Athens, TX : A Canton woman died on following a two-car wreck on Monday, December, 18th 2017

A Canton woman died on Monday following a two-car wreck on state Hwy. 243 in Canton, according to a spokesperson with the Texas Department of Public Safety.

Linda Abbott, 56, of Canton, was headed west in a 2005 Pontiac Grand Prix when she “pulled over at Cherry Creek Road and attempted to make a U-turn.” She was hit by a 2013 Buick Encore driven by Bob Wagnon, 85, of Hurst.

Abbott was pronounced dead at the scene. Wagnon was treated at the scene.
