Toledo,OH : Drunk driver sentenced for crash that almost killed friend on November, Wednesday 29th 2017
After abusing alcohol for a decade, Evon Dixon, Jr., said he stopped drinking after he nearly killed his best friend in a drunk-driving crash May 13.
On Wednesday, Dixon, 27, of the 1700 block of South Avenue was sentenced to six months at the Correctional Treatment Facility followed by four months in the Lucas County Work Release Program.
Lucas County Common Pleas Judge Gary Cook also placed him on community control for three years, ordered him to perform 100 hours of community service, and suspended his driver's license for five years.
Dixon pleaded no contest Sept. 29 and was found guilty of two counts of aggravated vehicular assault for the crash in the 400 block of Parker Street.
