Schoharie, NY : Fuel leaks after I-88 truck accident Friday morning, December 30, 2016
Emergency officials responded to a section of I-88 a mile west of the Schenectady-Schoharie County line after a tractor-trailer entered the median Friday morning, officials said.
The driver was uninjured but the fuel tank ripped open, spilling about 10 gallons of diesel fuel onto the ground, Schoharie County Sheriff Anthony Desmond said.
The Central Bridge Fire Department, Scho-Wright Ambulance, a deputy and a state trooper responded, as did the Schoharie County Haz-Mat Team, DEC Spill Unit and the County Safety Officer.
The road was not closed due to the accident.
