Monessen, PA : Drivers sustain minor injuries in Washington Township crash on Saturday, October 1, 2016

Two people sustained minor injuries in a two-vehicle collision in Washington Township Saturday that closed the road for about four hours, according to the township police.

A Peterbilt dump truck carrying gravel was traveling west on Route 366 (Greensburg Road) and collided with a silver Jeep that was turning onto the road from Rockland Drive, police said. The dump truck overturned just before noon and gravel spilled onto the road.

Westmoreland County hazmat crews cleaned up more than 75 gallons of diesel fuel and oil that also spilled across the two-lane road. PennDOT crews cleaned up the gravel.

Township police said the drivers of both vehicles were taken by ambulances to area hospitals for treatment. Police did not identify the drivers in a news release.
