An 88-year-old man has died from his injuries after a wrong-way crash in Jenison Friday morning.

Leslie Snider, of Jenison, was driving west in a Toyota Sienna in the eastbound lanes of Chicago Drive near Cottonwood Drive around 7:20 a.m. when he hit an eastbound Honda CRV head-on, according to the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office.

Snider was pinned in his minivan and had to be rescued before he was taken to an area hospital where he later died from his injuries.

The driver of the Honda CRV, a 27-year-old woman from Grand Rapids, was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries, authorities said.

Crash investigators say it’s unclear what caused Snider to drive the wrong way on Chicago Drive. The crash is still under investigation.
