Foss State Park, OK : Teenager dies after ATV accident in Custer County on Tuesday, May 24, 2016

An Elk City teenager died Tuesday in an ATV accident, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol reported.

The 17-year-old, whose name was not released, was driving an all-terrain vehicle in a field near Foss State Park about 12:20 p.m. when he was thrown from the vehicle after attempting to go down an embankment, troopers said.

The ATV rolled down the embankment and pinned the victim. He was not wearing a helmet and was pronounced dead at the scene, the patrol reported.
