Phoenix, AZ : Loop 101 reopened after 7-vehicle crash causes backups on Monday, December 19th 2016
A seven-vehicle collision on Loop 101 northbound tied up traffic early Monday morning.
Arizona Department of Public Safety troopers received reports about 5:50 a.m. of a crash near 90th Street with one vehicle facing the wrong way. The HOV lane and the left two lanes of traffic were blocked because of the crash, causing major backups, the DPS said.
Emergency personnel reported no life-threatening injuries, although a pregnant woman was being examined after the crash, the DPS said.
With only the right lane of the roadway open, northbound traffic backed up quickly, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation.
All lanes were reopened about 7:40 a.m., but drivers should expect backups through the rush hour.
