No students were injured in a school bus crash that occurred at the intersection of Old Manchester Road and Md. 27 Thursday afternoon near Westminster, according to Carroll County Public Schools spokeswoman Carey Gaddis.
Bus No. 191 was carrying 12 Cranberry Station Elementary School students when it collided with a postal truck, according to a spokesman for the Maryland State Police Westminster Barrack.
Police said both vehicles were traveling south on Md. 27 and the postal truck was attempting to make a left turn on Old Manchester Road when it was struck by the school bus. Police said the school bus driver was at fault, though no one was charged in the incident as of 9 p.m. Thursday.
Gaddis said students were examined by emergency personnel and were either released to parents or taken home by another bus.
The bus driver reported minor injuries but refused care, Gaddis said. There was extensive damage to the bus, Gaddis said.
