A Carthage teen suffered minor injuries in a two-vehicle crash at 4 p.m. Tuesday on Interstate 44, a mile east of Fidelity in Jasper County, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
Dakota R. Meseke, 17, was taken to Mercy Hospital Joplin.
Meseke was driving an eastbound car that ran off the road when he fell asleep at the wheel but came back on to the roadway and spun around as he realized what was happening and tried to regain control of the vehicle, the patrol said. The car then was struck by an eastbound truck rig driven by Max O. Wilson, 55, of Hooker, Oklahoma, the patrol said.
• An Eagle Rock resident suffered serious injuries in a two-vehicle collision at 3:15 p.m. Tuesday on Missouri Highway 86, about 7 miles southeast of Cassville in Barry County, according to the patrol.
Shane A. Adams, 27, was flown by medical helicopter to Mercy Hospital Springfield.
Adams was riding a westbound motorcycle that collided with an eastbound vehicle driven by Maria L. Ramirez, 54, of Eagle Rock, as Ramirez made a left turn in front of Adams, the patrol said. Adams was thrown from his bike, the patrol said.
