Two people were injured in a car crash Saturday morning east of Greeley.

The driver of a two-door Scion crashed and authorities aren't sure yet why the crash happened.

The crash happened shortly after 11:30 a.m. about four miles east of Greeley on Weld County Road 51, just south of Weld County Road 62 ½. The 28-year-old driver of the vehicle was seriously injured and was transported by Med Evac helicopter to North Colorado Medical Center.

One of the two passengers also was seriously injured and was transported to a medical facility.

Authorities re-opened the road at about 1 p.m. Saturday.

Earlier they had closed a portion of Weld 51 between Weld County roads 60½ and 62½, while they worked to investigate the crash and clear the wreckage. No other details about the crash were immediately available.
