Timpson, TX : ETX woman dies after hitting tree in crash on Sunday night, July 27, 2014
An East Texas woman was killed late Sunday night when her vehicle left the road and hit a tree.
According to the Department of Public Safety, at 11:19 p.m., troopers out of Center responded to a reports of a one-vehicle crash on FM 2667, located about two miles west of Timpson in Shelby County.
When authorities arrived at the scene, Amanda Kay Haney, 22, of Tenaha, was found at the crash site. Justice of the Peace Jim Powers pronounced her dead at the scene.
Crash investigators determined Haney's car had left the road and struck a tree. She was not wearing a seat belt and was thrown from the vehicle.
