RapidCity, SD : A pedestrian was killed in Rapid City on Sunday, 1st April 2018

A pedestrian was killed Sunday night in Rapid City after being struck by a vehicle, according to authorities.

Rapid City Police said in a news release that a 38-year-old male resident of Rapid City was crossing Omaha Street just before 8 p.m. and was struck by a 2018 Subaru westbound on Omaha.

The pedestrian was crossing in the 1400 block of the busy roadway, outside of a crosswalk, according to the release. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

His name is not yet being released, authorities said, pending notification of his family.
