One man died in a wreck on Highway 75 in Sherman overnight.

The driver of the semi has been identified as Kenneth Carter, 53, of Georgia.

According to Sherman police, around midnight, the driver lost control of the semi and slammed into one of the pillars under Loy Lake Bridge.

TxDOT is doing construction on the bridge.

Police say Carter was pinned inside the cab of the truck for at least half an hour. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The truck was carrying produce and most of the load was scattered across the median.
