DELRAY BEACH, FL : Man injured in hit-and-run crash at West Atlantic Avenue and Northwest 8th Avenue on Monday, 27th April, 2020

A man in Delray Beach was seriously injured in a hit-and-run crash Monday night, city police said.

Investigators are searching for a vehicle that fled the scene of a crash that happened at about 8:15 p.m. at West Atlantic Avenue and Northwest 8th Avenue. Authorities say a pedestrian, identified as Peter Sutton, was crossing Atlantic Avenue when he was struck by westbound pickup, police said.

Sutton was taken to a hospital in serious condition. The vehicle left the scene before police arrived, investigators said.

A witness described the vehicle as an older model dark blue Ford pickup. Pieces from the vehicle left at the scene suggest the vehicle was manufactured between 1997 and 2004. It will have damage on the passenger side headlight and is missing the passenger side mirror, police said.
