Boston, MA : Two people injured in a car crash at the McHugh Overpass and Soldiers Field Rd on Saturday afternoon, July 9, 2016
Massachusetts State Police are investigating a car crash in Boston that sent two people to the hospital on Saturday afternoon.
Police responded to reports of a three vehicle crash at the McHugh Overpass and Soldiers Field Rd in Boston at approximately 1:30 p.m.
A 33-year-old man from Watertown had been driving a 2010 Honda Insight on Birmingham Pkwy when he apparently failed to navigate a turn on McHugh Overpass and drove through the adjacent fence and guardrail, according to State Police.
The Honda then collided with a 2012 Ford F150 that had been headed west on Soldiers Field Rd.
The guardrail that had been knocked loose in the crash subsequently struck a 2006 Volvo that had been headed east on Soldiers Field Rd, causing damage to the vehicle.
The drivers of both the Honda and the Ford suffered injuries in the crash and were taken to medical centers for treatment.
Meanwhile, the driver of the Volvo – a 19-year-old Cambridge man – and his passenger were unharmed, according to police.
No charges have been filed against the driver of the Honda, according to police.
