Carmichael, CA : Six people injured in 2-vehicle crash at Manzanita Avenue and Jameson Court on Saturday evening, September 10, 2016
Six people were injured in a two-vehicle, head-on crash Saturday evening in Carmichael, fire officials said.
The crash was reported about 6:30 p.m. at Manzanita Avenue and Jameson Court, Metro Fire Department said.
A bronze Honda Pilot was traveling northbound on Manzanita Avenue when it crossed into the southbound fast lane, crashing head-on into a white Subaru Legacy, the California Highway Patrol said. It is unknown why the Pilot crossed over into the southbound lane.
There was a woman and three passengers in the Pilot, the CHP said. Another woman and one passenger were in the Legacy.
Two of the people injured were “pediatric patients” and the other four were adults, officials said. Five patients were taken to hospitals by ambulance and one patient was taken to a hospital by helicopter.
The extent of the injuries are reported as moderate to minor, officials said.
Metro Fire is no longer in the area.
The fast lane on southbound Manzanita Avenue remains closed at this time but should reopen soon, according to CHP.
