Fort Smith,AR : One killed in Pocola accident on September, Friday 8th 2017

One person is dead after a four-vehicle accident on Oklahoma 112 in Pocola on Friday, the investigating officer said.

The Pocola Police Department received a 911 call about the accident at 12:19 p.m. Friday, Investigator Mike Roeder said. One person was declared dead at the scene. Eight people were injured, three of whom were taken to the hospital — one to Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville and one to St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa.

As of about 3 p.m. Friday, one was in serious but stable condition and two were in critical condition.

The accident was the result of a rear-end collision, Roeder said. The accident happened at the intersection of Oklahoma 112 and Hardin Lane in Pocola. The roadways were shut down for about 2½ hours.
