Salem, OR : Two badly hurt in Salem crash near Macy’s on Friday, December 19, 2014
Two people may have life-threatening injuries, police said, after they were involved in a crash near the downtown Salem Macy’s store.
The crash was reported at 12:03 a.m. Friday near the intersection of Marion Street Northeast and High Street Northeast.
One victim was flown to Doernbecher Children’s Hospital at Oregon Health & Science University, police said. Police could not immediately confirm the age of that patient. The second victim was transported by ground ambulance to Salem Hospital, police said.
Police said the driver remained on scene. The investigation is ongoing and police have not released any additional information. The intersection has since re-opened, emergency dispatchers said.
