Midland, MI : Semi truck crashes into bridge barrier on Wednesday, January 4, 2017

A six mile section of Isabella Road was closed for about two hours this morning after a semi truck struck the concrete divider on the Karl B. Robertson Bridge, Midland Police report.

The accident occurred just after 4 a.m. when the driver of a semi truck lost control on the icy road, and the semi jackknifed and struck the divider. The driver, whose name was not released, was not hurt.

Isabella Road was closed from Main Street to Meridian Road from about 4:30 to 6:30 a.m., Midland County Central Dispatch reported in Nixle alerts. Police said the lengthy section of roadway was closed because it is a heavy travel time for semi trucks, which have difficulty being rerouted down Homer Road due to low wires and tight turns, and could not go down Currie Parkway.
